BOYFRIEND BOOKMARK RATING: ★★★★★
My mom says that you can’t love someone until you learn to love yourself.
So even though Vincent is getting more and more scary.
Even though he’s doing a nationwide search for me.
I’m going to learn to love myself.
Well, I’m going to try.
Mostly, I want a boy to love me.
But which one?
Dawson – The gorgeous boy who made a mistake, but whose molten lava kisses and steaminess I can’t freaking resist.
Aiden – The God of all Hotties, who is practically infused with love potion. Who I thought liked me, but now says he wants to be my friend.
Brooklyn – The boy that first stole my heart. Who has always loved me. Well, until the whole cabana incident.
I mean, it was bad enough when there was sort of a love triangle, but now that I’m talking to B again, it’s like I’m in a love rectangle, or a rhombus, or something.
Oh, and did I mention Cooper Steele?
The new soccer coaching, health teaching, tattooed hunk?
Who Garrett sent to school to guard my body.
I mean, be my bodyguard.
But back to loving me.
I should forget about boys and worry about me.
I cannot get over how much I love this series. Jillian Dodd’s writing is like none other I’ve ever experienced. It has this very unique quality to it that just is so real. Although these books are set in high school and the characters are young, they’re still so relatable. And this series just keeps getting better and better with each book that Jillian releases.
What’s neat about The Keatyn Chronicles that is unlike any other series, at least that I’ve personally read, is that it sits with me like a television series does. I feel like every chapter is a new episode. It’s like Gossip Girl meets 90210 except so much cooler.
I absolutely love Keatyn. I think she’s hilarious. She reminds me of myself, and every other high school girl I’ve ever known. One minute she loves one guy, the next minute she’s moved on to someone else, then she’s back to the old guy, and now she’s got someone else entirely. And the best part? I love them all! Jillian’s character development with the boys in Keatyn’s life is outstanding. She makes them all so different, each having these individual endearing little qualities, yet they all have similarities that attract Keatyn. I’m rooting for someone new on every page…well, actually to be honest, I’m usually just rooting for Aiden. Oh, Aiden. I love Aiden. I used to love Dawson, and really, I still do. But between the two, Aiden totally makes me swoon. However, I wish there was more uncontrollable passion between he and Keatyn, but that’s just a minor detail.
I never expected to love this series the way I do simply because I’m usually not crazy about YA, mature or not. Initially when I read Stalk Me, it started out with “wow, this is very good” and has now turned in to me being completely obsessive over the next release in the series. And then I stay up all night to finish the book in one sitting because I seriously cannot put it down. Thank you, Jillian, for sharing your talent with us along with Keatyn’s story and adventures! I love experiencing her earth-shattering issues, life-altering drama, and every day breakdowns! I’ll be anxiously awaiting Adore Me’s release!
