UYMCOVERBOYFRIEND BOOKMARK RATING: ★★★★

Taking big risks had always been Archer Brook’s way of life. It’s what has to be done in order to get what you want, and he knew that better than anyone. Archer may have been born into a life of wealth and privilege, but he’d proven time and time again that his success was a result of his own true grit and determination. The savvy businessman was an experienced player in the game of life, always knowing when to ante up or when to cash out.

It was time to do both.

Burned out on the bright lights of Vegas, once the successful night club owner found the best of both worlds tucked away in a quiet Mississippi town, he never looked back.

That was until she walked into his bar.

Life has never been easy for Katy Vaughn. The preacher’s daughter turned small town rebel has seen her fair share of heartbreak, and she’s tired. Katy is done with men who have no idea what they want or how to treat a woman. She wants a real man. One who can give her everything she’s ever dreamed of. One who will give her everything she needs. Lovers of the past may have broken her heart, but they could never break her spirit.

There was only one man capable of that.

You never know when love will come along and change…everything.

STEPHANIE: ★★★★

Katy never had an easy life. She was the daughter of a preacher but once she escaped from under his thumb she rebelled, she lived a little more on the wild side. But the on thing she has always held out for is true love. She had felt love before but always found herself brokenhearted and alone. But she has her eyes set on her boss. But he is the one person that she may not be able to have in her life.

Archer is an amazing businessman. He knows what he wants and he knows how to get it. But one thing he never wants again is love. He thought he had is great love but that ended up being anything but. He has vowed never to find himself in that position again. He will never leave his heart vulnerable and open to love. He has Katy in his sights though and no matter how many times she tells him she wants his heart, the only thing he is willing to give her is his body, demanding hers in return. But that is all he wants. Or is it?

Katy and Archer have this amazing chemistry and they feed well off of one another and there is something there for each of them. Something she has always wanted, something he will never admit. But when push comes to shove will Archer let the walls he has built around his heart down or will Katy finally give up pursuit of the relationship she has always wanted in her life?

I fell in love with Archer and Katy both. I loved his dominate side and I loved her strong will and perseverance. She wasn’t going to give up on him and he was going to take what he wanted. But with all good things, there is a bunch of conflicts for both of them. Katy’s dad does not approve of Archer. Archer has a past he has not made peace with. Two very beautiful and flawed people finding hope and strength within one another.

This story had me all kinds of twisted. I couldn’t figure out why Archer was so reserved and not willing to open his life. But when you find out his entire story, it all just clicks in place. I loved the passion and determination by both of them and I loved their story. But will a happily ever after be obtainable for them? This book shook up my heart a bit. I wanted them to fight but when the fight is only coming from one direction, I just had no idea how it would all play out.

This is a great read and I fell so in love with the characters in this book, I was sad to see it end.

EXCERPT

I stumbled to the bathroom. The roar in my gut and

the hardness on my knees weren’t doing shit to

suffocate the misery in my heart. When my body finally

finished expelling the poison, I rinsed my mouth,

catching a glimpse of myself in the mirror.

You let him do this.

Tiny damp hairs clung to the sides of my face like

spider veins, and my eyes were bloodshot from all of the

alcohol and tears. A surge of nausea plowed though me.

Reaching for the hand towel, I fell to the floor and

pressed my cheek to the cold tile. The coolness settled

my screaming stomach, allowing me to close my eyes

and release a soothing breath. The pain in my chest

vibrated and my undying love sang low and deep, both

uniting in harmony and claiming me.

Forever.
