Will their past determine their future?

Saint Ford has worked hard to achieve her childhood dream of becoming of nurse. Focused on her work and devoted to her patients, there’s no room for love. She doesn’t need a guy making waves in her calm, serene life—especially when he’s the unforgettable hottie who nearly destroyed her in high school. Dark, brooding Nash Donovan might not remember her or the terrible pain he caused. But he turned her world upside down . . . and now he’s trying to do it again.

Saint has no idea that Nash isn’t the cocky player he once was. Uncovering a devastating family secret has rocked his world, and now he’s struggling to figure out his future. He can’t be distracted by the pretty nurse he seems to meet everywhere. Still, he can’t ignore the sparks that fly between them —or how she seems so desperate to get away from him. But the funny, sweet, and drop-dead gorgeous Saint is far too amazing to give up on—especially since she’s the only thing in his life that seems to make sense.

When Nash discovers the truth about their past, he realizes he may have lost her heart before he could even fight for it. Now, Saint has to decide: is Nash worth risking herself for all over again?

Jay Crownover just outdoes herself time and time again and I just want more and more of the Marked Men! This book, this story just melted my heart. It was panty melting goodness that can only be provided by the Marked Men.

Saint has overcome some of her darkest days. As a teenager, she was well… akward. She had so much pain in her youth because of others that when one guy paid attention and noticed, a simple crush turned her heart into goo… but when she heard him saying the things he said about her she was devistated. Then to top it off, when she went to a party that he was going to be at, everything in her world collapsed. She thought he was the one that was finally going to notice her. But everything he said and did just changed her love for him into pure hate…

Saint is now a nurse and doing something she really loves, caring for others. But when he walks into the hospital she wants nothing more than to comfort and care for him. But everything in her brain says stay far, far away. But her body… well that just wants something more.

Nash had a rough youth. Never really feeling the love of his mother and knowing that his father left when he was young, he never felt the love and protection of anyone at home, until his uncle walked into the picture and set him on the right path and helped him and mentored him into the amazing tattoo artits that he is now. But now, everything is changing. His uncle is the reason he is walking into the hospital again. So when he gets delt the ultimate blow of his life becuase of his family, nothing will be the same for him.

Having to deal with his uncle, dad, mom and new business opportunity, Nash doesn’t want any more complications in his life. But one knock at his door changes everything. He instantly wants so much of Saint, but in order to do that he will have to break down the barriers that she has built to allow him in. But can Saint do that? Can she open her heart to the one person she ran from after graduation? Can she get beyond the hurt he caused her years ago?

There are so many things to love about this book. First, it is smoking hot. Nash is just unbelievably sexy and he has the most intricate and beautiful tattoo that just screams for hands to touch it. I didn’t expect anything less from this Marked Man. I mean, all of them have been unbelivable and hot, but there is something about Nash that just got to me. He is passionate and he loves with all his heart. He knows pain, but he also knows the power of love.

Then there’s Saint… she was so broken and scarred from what happened with Nash years earlier that the thought of letting him in enough to love her had her wanting to run away again, far from this amazing man…

I love the crazy ride that Jay Crownover takes us on through the pages of Nash’s story. The turmoil and the pain for these characters is raw and real. It is breathtaking and beautiful. I am so captured in the writing of these books and I know that no matter what she writes in the future, I will be anticipating reading it. Nash reminds us that we all had issues in our past but it is what we fight for in the future that makes us who we are. The struggle of knowing the pain of the past and the determination to overcome the past is what sets Nash apart from all others. He knows what he wants, but he knows pain and hurt and struggle as well.

This book is bridging the gaps of the past and the present and making them part of what the future will become. I was in awe through the entire book and I just want so much more!

As a side note, I have to say I am probably a little bias in one aspect of this series… I am a Colorado native. I was born in Denver and I grew up about an hour outside of the city in my small little mountain community. So the places in this book give me a feeling of home. I desperately want to search LoDo and find the new tattoo shop and want to get a new tattoo from one of the Marked Men! This book just has a very different feel for me because I can relate to the locations, I can picture them in my head and if I am determined enough, I can go seek out several of them. And to know at one point in my life, I spent some quality time on Lookout Mountain as well. It made the book that much more real to me.

I’m supposed to share interesting details about myself so that my readers get to know me so here we go in no particular order: I’m an natural redhead even though I haven’t seen my real hair color in years, I’m a big fan of tattoos and have a half sleeve on either arm and various other pieces all over the place, I’ve been in the bar industry since I was in college and it has always offered interesting insight into how men and women interact with each other, I have 3 dogs that are all crazy, I live in Colorado and love the snow, I love music and in all reality wish I could be a rock star not a writer or a bartender but I have zero talent so there is that. I love to write, love to read and all I’m interested in is a good story with interesting characters that make the reader feel something. Thanks for taking the time to check my stuff out…
