Who said life was easy again?
When eighteen year old Ella Stone fell into his arms one July morning she encountered a man who was not only beautiful, but the most caring and loving she had ever met.
She is lost in the distance to most and cares about nothing in her life.
The only needs she craves is her best friend Jade and her trusty sky blue Ford Mustang.
After losing someone who meant more to her than herself, her whole life changed for the worse.
Fighting something on your own, can change your life.
Especially when that something, causes you pain everyday.
When Luke James lean, beautiful and rich finds a small girl riddled with torment in his arms he can’t help but want to put out that dark light inside of her.
His past haunts them both, causing unnecessary heartbreak.
But when he leaves his high school girlfriend Jenna, for her, trouble chases them both and the escape tries to break them apart.
On this emotional tormented roller-coaster, we find two people who should of never been introduced, but they are and the inevitable happens, for them both.
This book is recommended for those aged 17+ due to sexual themes and adult situations.
She’s not popular. She doesn’t catch the eyes of the guys. She would rather fade away than to fit in. The attention she receives is unnecessary and unwanted and mostly… it is unkind. She has never been a stand out person in school, she has never wanted to be. And the only attention that she ever receives is usually classmates calling her names. But more than all of that she is struggling with her own issues. She has a dark side and if those in her school only knew, she would never live it down. Ella just tries to stay out of the way and to go unnoticed.
Of course that will only get her so far when she accidentally bumps into him in the hall. He is everything that she isn’t. He’s popular, friendly and everyone knows exactly who he is and the family he comes from. He is everything she is not. Luke is not just another one of them though. He sees something in Ella’s eyes that day. He feels a spark. She felt it too.
These two have pasts, they both have dark sides that they wish they didn’t. Every day is a battle for Ella and Luke just wants to move beyond his past. The thing that really got me was the intense connection they have. If it is true that opposites attract, then these two will last forever. But along with Luke’s popularity, he has an entire string of broken hearts following him behind. But there is so much more to his past that makes him something to stay away from. And Ella… this poor girl, and yes, I feel badly for her. She has been in a bad place in her life for so long.
Can the two of them heal each other or are they going to break each other? Can they possibly make things work when everything is against them? This is a great story and I did enjoy it. Please don’t let the three star rating fool you. It was a good book that I did enjoy and the ending… oh my. Somewhere deep down, I knew that was going to happen. Did I expect it in exactly that way? No, but it was well plotted and worth it.
These characters were just destined to be together even though the world said no… there was something deep down that screamed yes. Everything was plotted against them and there was no way this relationship could survive. But they both wanted it so badly, it made me hold out hope for the two of them.
This was a sweet book with a great love story about being needed, wanted and loved. There was a lot of emotional turmoil in the pages of this book, but it brought out the best and the worst in the characters written on the lines. It was touching and gripping and worth the read.
