Twenty-three year old, Kamryn Cunningham has left all she’s ever known and moved to a small town where no one knows her name, who her parents are, or her social status in the horseracing world. Months after opening her own bakery and evading attempts of being set up by her new best friend, she meets Brody. Kamryn fights the instant pull between them because there’s a detail she can’t dismiss. Brody’s married.
To say that twenty-six year old, Brody Saco has had a rough marriage would be an understatement. After marrying his pregnant girlfriend, he spends the next six years in a relationship filled with hatred, manipulation and guilt involving a tragedy that happened five years earlier. When he keeps running into his sister-in-law’s best friend, Kamryn, he can’t ignore that she makes him feel more with just one look than his wife ever has; and soon he can’t continue fight his feelings for her.
When staying apart proves to be too difficult, Brody and Kamryn enter a relationship full of stolen moments and nights that end too soon while they wait for Brody to file for divorce. But the guilt that comes with their relationship may prove to be too much for Kamryn, and Brody might not be strong enough to face the tragedy from his past in order to leave his conniving wife.
We all go into books with our own set of moral completely in tact. We know what we would or wouldn’t do of we were in certain situations right? Well… maybe. When I read the synopsis for Sharing You, I really wanted to read it because I wanted to know what would posses two people to have an affair. I have never understood the cheating on your spouse and it is something I would never condone, however, after reading Sharing You, I completely get it with all of the circumstances floating around this couple. I don’t agree with the way it happened, but I completely understand why it happened that way.
And it is a beautiful story in the end, but the getting to that point is difficult. Molly McAdams took a taboo topic and turned it into an amazing story and she did it with compassion and ease. It wasn’t chocolate covered but it was told in a way that evokes understanding in the situation.
Kamyrn is getting a new start. It was a bit of a must on her list of life. She is starting over away from the life she was brought up in. She left that all behind when she heard her dad and “boyfriend” chatting about the events that were going to transpire. She packed everything and walked away. But she had prepared in advance for this to happen. But now that she has started her life, she was the happiest she had ever been. And then she ran into him… literally.
Brody just happened to be in the right place at the right time when KC bumped into him that day. But something happened in that instant that would change everything. Pushing him to do something that he had needed to do for a long time. But torn with his own emotions of events of the past, he had always been prevented from taking those steps before.
Lies, deceit, broken promises… this book is a lot to take in. There were so many things that KC and Brody kept from each other. But if they truly wanted to find their forever, honesty should have been the best place to start. But with Brody’s wife, nothing about his freedom is going to come without a cost to him. After all she reminded him nearly daily that he was the reason she was the way she was.
Emotions run high in this love story. It is a story that you wouldn’t think about falling in love with but once you read the story, you can’t help but hope for the two characters, despite what they are doing. It book takes a look into a situation that you always thought you knew, but if the tables were turned and you were in either of their situations and knew in a moment that the person standing in front of you was your forever, would you do the same thing?
Despite my personal opinions on marriage, this book just spoke to me. I can’t imagine being married to someone like Olivia, but I am not sure I would have been strong enough to put myself in Kamryn’s shoes either. But this isn’t my story. It is Brody and Camryn’s and it is a touching story of hope, love and finding your forever and it’s a five star read.
