Enter former MMA contender Evan Bates. His sudden re-appearance into the sport after a mysterious five year absence not only raises eyebrows, but also temps both in and out of the Octagon.
Can Hayley keep everything in check? Or will she be Knocked Out?
This book was fabulous! It wasn’t a long book, but it was a powerful story. The lengths Evan Bates went to over five years ago to protect and adore the one that matter most is heart warming and touching.
Haley has her first big job. It wasn’t what she planned but when her boss promoted her within minutes she wanted to shine! She wanted to make her new job as the host of “Next Great Hope” huge. But to make her reality show a hit, she was going to have to find the right talent to fit the bill. He couldn’t just be an MMA fighter. He had to be appealing to the eye and he had have a good connection with the audience. The only problem is that the last spot she had to fill, was proving to be a bit more difficult than she thought it would be. She had no way to get a hold of him and no way to convince him that he was perfect for the spot.
Evan had enough on his plate. He didn’t have time to be concerned with fighting. It was what he loved, but he loved his daughter so much more. He would stop at nothing to allow his daughter to grow up in a loving home surrounded by the people that love her. He wouldn’t go back to fighting. Or would he?
This story was more that a steamy romance. It was the sweet love of a child that threw me right over the edge in this one. I adored her so much! And I adored Evan’s passion and dedication to his child with all my heart.
Though I wish the story would have been longer, I really enjoyed it. I loved the characters and the determination and the passion mixed in the pages. It was a nice read and I really enjoyed it.
Dressed in a pair of black sweats and matching tank, she seemed underdressed as Evan wore only a pair of blue running shorts and sneakers.
“Hey.” She shouted as she caught up to him.
Annoyed, Evan took out one of his ear pods while he continued to run. “What is it?” he asked.
“Just haven’t had a chance to talk to you; wanted to see how you were doing. We’ve never formally met. I’m Hayley.”
“I know. Good to meet ya.” He told her. “So, do you usually run with contestants?” he asked.
“Only the ones I want to get to know.”
She could feel him looking at her. His blue eyes glimmered with devilish intent. “Well, this is a five mile run. Think you can hang, pretty girl?” he mocked.
Her eyes grew wide as she watched his shirtless torso. His broad shoulders already had beads of sweat running down his arms and over his six pack abs.
“I’ll keep up as best as I can.” she said on an exhale.
