The Boyfriend Bookmark: ★★★★
The Connections series continues with this spin-off novel.
He didn’t think, he didn’t question—he just acted.
What she wanted, she took—without regard.
It was only one night, but it changed everything.
After losing his fiancée, Ben Covington is unsure he’ll ever love again. But when he sees Bell Wilde, he’s so deeply drawn to her, that he’s thrown for a loop. Maybe it’s purely sexual chemistry that’s igniting this spark between them…or maybe it’s his second chance at love.
Bell has just gotten her life back on track and may not be up for the challenge of Ben Covington. But once they’re reunited, there’s no holding back—even if a secret from Bell’s past just might shatter them both.
I have been faithful to this series since the beginning. I love the entire series, I love the couples, I love the situations… but I didn’t think I would ever love Ben. Turns out, I was so wrong. I not only loved him but I just completely fell in love with this story.
Ben is getting his life back. He is starting over. But there is one person from his past that he may never be done with. Bell is the one he dreams of at night, the one that he aches for during the day and the one he spent ONE night with many moons ago. But She is the one person that could destroy everything that he has worked for in his life because she is the one person that has total control over his heart. But it’s obviously not that simple.
Bell has secrets in her closet that involve Ben, but she can’t tell him. It was a long time ago and a very painful memory for her to relive. But the harder she pushes Ben away, the easier it is for her to fall completely in love with him. Although that’s not completely true. She has never gotten over that one night either. And now… well… no matter what she does, there is an attraction that she cannot deny there. Something that will not go away, no matter how hard she fights it. It is there. It is a constant.
Can the two the them stop fighting long enough to let love into their lives? With pasts so clouded in the bad, is it even possible for them to have a relationship? Can forgiveness be that easy when everything hurts so much? Can they find their love story?
Now, I really wasn’t sure I wanted to read about Ben, I have to admit after everything that happened between him and Dahlia, I wasn’t sure if I cared about his story. But I have to tell you, his story is just as amazing as the others. He has had his share and he knows that he wants so much more out of life now. But this time, nothing is going to stand in his way. I really great to love Ben’s character. It of course, took a little bit of time and a pretty damn good prequel to get me to that point, but once I was there, I was 100-percent there!
This book was just as touching and emotional as the rest of the series, it had the heat and the passion that I expect from Kim Karr’s writing and it was full of love. And love tends to conquer all, so I thought this was a great read!
