I wasn’t prepared to hear those words. Neither was my loving husband, family or friends. And none of us were prepared for what life had in store after they were spoken.
I should have seen the signs all around me. I should have paid attention to the people who supposedly loved me, the people who I’d always trusted. But I was blind to what was going on. The effects on my flourishing career, passionate marriage and carefree lifestyle would be insurmountable.
It was time to take control of my life and the overwhelming chaos. Time to make the choices that were right for me. Right for my future. The future I hadn’t planned on.
My life didn’t stop when I heard those four little words . . . it was only just beginning.
Stephanie & The Boyfriend Bookmark: ★★★★★
Strength, courage, love and hope. This book had it all. it was brilliantly written and I knew after reading the synopsis that it was going to leave a mark and it did in a big way.
Victoria has been given the bad news, but she knows she is going to fight this. She is going to win the battle. She is going to come out on the other side having overcome this horrible nightmare. But as she is getting read to go through test after test, surgery after surgery and that much closer to putting her life back together, the world seems to slip out from under her a little bit further.
This has not been easy for her, all of the appointments, the tests, the surgery and she is only beginning the journey to healing. But she knows she can do this. She can fight the battle and come out the victor.
This is a touching and moving story and it doesn’t just stop at the diagnosis. I don’t want to ruin anything about this book for you as a reader, but let’s just say, nothing is as it seems and in the end, the people who you have in your corner are the ones that will pull you through.
Just when I came to terms with all of Victoria’s cancer appointments and disappointments, she was thrown a huge curveball in life. But you always want to see the best in the people you surround yourselves with and she was absolutely no different. She would be strong, she would get through this and she would move on with her life, even when she didn’t know what direction that was heading.
Now, I really admired Noah in the beginning. He was the rock and stability that she really needed, but as the book progressed, Noah’s attitude shifted and things began to change. Cancer is a scary world and it would have to be hard on anyone, being the one with it or the person with the one with it. It is not an easy thing to get through.
All I have to say is that I am so thankful for the good doctor. I was a bit miffed with him initially when he stopped working on Victoria’s reconstruction but he came back strong and stole my heart. Well, except for that I want the next book in the series now…
This is a touching story of overcoming all of the adversity that life hands you. It is a journey through the good, the bad, the worse and finding the strength to move on and not give up. It was a powerful read and it has definitely left an impression on my heart. I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
