For Olivia Bentley, Lucky Harbor is more than the town where she runs her new vintage shop. It’s the place where folks are friendly to strangers-and nobody knows her real name. Olivia does a good job of keeping her past buried, not getting too cozy with anyone . . . until she sees a man drowning. Suddenly she’s rushing into the surf, getting up close and personal with the hottest guy she’s ever laid hands on.
Charter boat captain Cole Donovan has no problem with a gorgeous woman throwing her arms around his neck in an effort to “save” him. In fact, he’d like to spend a lot more time skin-to-skin with Olivia. He’s just not expecting that real trouble is about to come her way. Will it bring her deeper into Cole’s heart, or will it be the end of Olivia’s days in little Lucky Harbor?
There is something magical about this little town and once again I am thinking of relocating my life to the small coastal town of Lucky Harbor. Jill Shalvis has done it again with another truly remarkable story of finding yourself and doing it surrounded by truly amazing people.
I don’t know about you, but I truly believe that we all have several masks and costumes that we wear on a daily basis. Some of us do it just to get by, some of us do it to go un-noticed and some of us do it to live the life they were meant to live. Olivia Bentley is one of these people. She has a past that she has spent the last twenty years trying to overcome. She is trying to do something that she wants to do and she is trying to live the life that she was meant to live. But her past is something that cannot easily be forgotten… except in Lucky Harbor. This is her chance to break free from the past.
But everything she knows about herself is going to be tested the moment she sees Cole Donovan fall off that boat. Something happened. He is out there alone and now he is in the water. She can’t let him drown, right? So she does what very few would do. She doesn’t use her phone to call for help, she doesn’t think about it for a moment before she jumps in the freezing water to save this man.
This man… she knows who he is. She has spent a lot of time admiring him from afar. She will never get close enough to anyone to let them see her past, but there is something magnetic about Cole that she just can’t seem to escape. She may have jumped in the water to “save” him, but the biggest saving moment will be when they save each other.
Cole doesn’t have the track record with women in his life that makes it super easy to open his heart up to another. He doesn’t want to. He was hurt in the most unthinkable way in his past, but could he find enough potential in Olivia that he is willing to risk his heart again?
I love everything about Lucky Harbor. It is a coastal version of my hometown and I find myself falling in love with each and every one of the people who occupy it. But more than that, I love how much they open up to each other. How much of their own lives they give for one another. This town, this series, by far, one of my favorites! But He’s So Fine is more than just a sweet little romance. It is a book about identity and finding out not only who you are but accepting where you have been. It is touching and heartwarming and there is nothing hotter than a guy that carries everything in his pants!
I love the costumes and the store. I love the boats and the crew. I love the tender moments and the panicky ones too. I love this town. I love this series and this is definitely another five star read that takes place is such a magical place!
**This is part of a series, but can be read as a stand alone novel
