Title: Long Hard Ride (Rough Riders #1)
Author: Lorelei James
The Boyfriend Bookmark: ★★★★★
One lucky woman is in for the ride of her life with three sexy cowboys…
During summer break, wannabe wild woman Channing Kinkaid is offered the chance to shed her inhibitions and horse around on the road with a real chaps-and-spurs wearing rodeo cowboy.
From the moment Colby McKay—bull rider, saddle bronc buster and calf roper—sets his lust-filled eyes on the sweet and fiery Channing, he knows she’s up to the challenge of being his personal buckle bunny. But he also demands that his rodeo traveling partners, Trevor and Edgard are allowed to join in their no-holds-barred sexcapades.
Although Channing secretly longed to be the sole focus of more than one man’s passions, all is not as it seems with the sexy trio. Colby’s demand for her complete submission behind closed doors tests her willful nature, and his sweet-talking ways burrow into her heart.
Will Colby have to break out the bullropes and piggin’ string to convince this headstrong filly that the road to true love doesn’t have to be as elusive as that championship belt buckle?
Warning: this story has tons of explicit sex, graphic language that’d make your mama blush, light bondage, ménage a trois, and—yee-haw!—hot nekkid cowboy man-love.
Torn between the life she was given and expected to live and the life she knows she wants to live, Channing has a lot of life to experience to discover what she truly wants out of her life. She has taken time away from her high social status to experience a whole new world, a world of rodeo, cowboys and true life lessons. She wants to explore it all.
Colby McKay knows what he wants. He has never claimed to be innocent or anything other than a cowboy. But there is something about Channing that has just captivated him and left him a bit shaken inside. So when he makes her an offer to ride along with him, Trevor and Edgar, to experience everything she could ever imagine, it is a tough choice. But there is something about being with two men or three that just has peaked her interest. Going along with it all, Channing is about to take the ride of her life and she doesn’t even have to saddle up to experience it all.
I loved this book. Not only because it has a great story line, hot cowboys and adventure into the unknown, but because this book is Channing’s way of finding out who she really is and what she really wants out of life. It is hot, there is a lot of steam (and all kinds of it). It has a sweet story that goes along with it. Not only is Channing given the opportunity to fulfill her fantasies, but she gets to do it with three incredibly hot cowboys who know what they want. She sees things between them, she experiences things with them and ultimately her heart finds what it truly wants.
Colby invited her along for the ride, but he was just thinking that he was going to finally get the girl that caught his eye. I am not sure either of them expected what would happen when it was all over. But I loved that part the most. The story found itself coming full circle. This book just kept me on my toes, I never knew what kind of scene I was going to get from page to page and I was anxious to get to the next page to find out what happened next.
I am always intrigued by cowboys and rodeos, it is in my small town girl blood, but this book just takes it to an entirely different level and I loved every moment of it! So grab those reins and hold on tight, this is one hot book that you won’t want to put down. See if you can stay on for eight seconds and enjoy the ride!
Lorelei James is the New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author of contemporary erotic western romances set in the modern day Wild West and also contemporary erotic romances. Lorelei’s books have been nominated for and won the Romantic Times Reviewer’s choice Award, as well as the CAPA Award. Lorelei lives in western South Dakota with her family…and a whole closet full of cow girl boots.
Why do I have a particular fondness for all things western? Well, I’m a fourth generation South Dakotan, living in the Black Hills, which is chock-full of interesting characters, including cowboys, Indians, ranchers, and bikers. The geographical diversity of the surrounding area showcases mountains, plains, and badlands. Living in and writing about rural settings gives me a unique perspective, especially since I’m not writing historical westerns. Through my fictional world, I can show the ideals and the cowboy way of life are still very much alive.
