Some lines are meant to be crossed.

That hair. That fucking hair. It was everywhere, always, and I wanted to tangle my fingers in those dark curls and pull. And that would be fine if she wasn’t my apprentice.

Andy Asani was nothing like I expected. She was exotic and scary-brilliant, and the slightest murmur from those lips sent hot, hungry lust swirling through my veins. Outside my siblings, she was the only person I could name who shared my obsession with preserving Boston’s crumbling buildings.

My wants were few: good eats, tall boots, hot yoga, interesting work. One incredibly hot architect with the most expressive hazel eyes I ever encountered and entirely too much talent in and out of the bedroom wasn’t part of the original plan. Apparently he was part of the package.

Wine was my rabbi and vodka was my therapist, and I needed plenty of both to survive my apprenticeship. Especially with Patrick Walsh leaving love notes in the form of bite marks all over my body.

Stephanie’s Review

If you loved Underneath It All, you will love Patrick’s story as well! Though this is a series, the two books do not have to be read back to back and can be read as stand alones. But I think both books are amazing in their own unique way!

This is Patrick and Andy’s story. Andy is a recent graduate from Cornell. She wants nothing more than to be an apprentice under Patrick. He has been the one that she has envied, looked up to and admired almost her entire time in school. But there is something more to him and she just needs to figure out if she can have it both ways.

After securing the apprenticeship with his firm, Andy knows she is going to have to do her very best to keep up with him. He didn’t want to hire her. He didn’t want her around. But at the same time he couldn’t stop staring at her. He was always looking. But was he looking because she was someone he wanted or was he looking because he was hoping that he could freak her out enough to get rid of her?

Oh Patrick… Patrick is the boss of the firm it seems. He doesn’t want an apprentice, but he knows that something needs to happen around there to keep his sanity, all of their sanity. But Andy is definitely not the answer. She is beautiful. There is so much he would like to do with her and having her working right next to him all the time is not one of them!

Can the two of them find a way to work together without letting their attraction get the best of them? If it gets the best of them can they continue on and keep work separate from pleasure?

This is a tangled web of romance, secrets and the past. Eventually everything catches up with the two of them and they need to face everything they want head on and deal with it. I love that. I love that Patrick makes the effort to do right by Andy. I love that Andy wants to comfort him in his time of pain. I love that the two of them ground each other and I love that their relationship seems to flow smoothly, in bathrooms, in bedrooms… and I love that they know they are not invincible and they both make mistakes.

This book is a great look into another sibling’s life and I absolutely am loving these books by Kate Caterbary. They are fun, flirty, sexy and a bit dangerous. But they are amazing! I cannot wait for more!

About the Author

Kate doesn’t have it all figured out, but this is what she knows for sure: spicy-ass salsa and tequila solve most problems, living on the ocean–Pacific or Atlantic–is the closest place to perfection, and writing smart, smutty stories is a better than any amount of chocolate. She started out reporting for an indie arts and entertainment newspaper back when people still read newspapers, and she has been writing and surreptitiously interviewing people—be careful sitting down next to her on an airplane—ever since. Kate lives on the water in Rhode Island with Mr. Canterbary and the Little Baby Canterbary, and when she isn’t writing sexy architects, she’s scheduling her days around the region’s best food trucks.
