After meeting Beckett Ridge, a bearded tattoo artist, Dax’s journey begins winding down an unexpected path.

Still reeling from events that shook his foundation, Beck has never been part of anything meaningful. Now faced with responsibilities foreign and daunting, Dax’s broken spirit mends Beck in ways he never even knew he was destroyed.

As both struggle to find balance, they are healed by the comfort they find in one other. On the other side of chaos, they hope to find themselves On Solid Ground.

Love knows no boundaries. Love knows no limits. Love knows who and when to love and this book is full of such a beautiful love that it fills your heart, warms your soul and touches your heart. Melissa Collins has written one of the most powerful love stories in On Solid Ground.

I am such a strong supporter of our military and I am thankful each and every day for what they sacrifice for their country. Dax is exactly what I picture when I picture a man of honor. He sacrificed so much in the war and now that he is home, he has to learn how to cope and deal with the wounds that the war left behind. Returning home he is faced with dealing with his PTSD but almost worse than that, he has to deal with the heart that was broken in the war when he lost his everything in a battle he had no control over.

Starting a new life, he has to figure out not only how to cope, but who he wants to become. Everything changes in one instant when he walks into a tattoo shop to forever remember the one he lost. Because that is when he meets Beck.

Beck is not without his own baggage but together these two men find something special, something meaningful that will forever change their lives. The find more than hope, they find each other. Despite their instant connection and the instant attraction, there is so much more these two will have to face, but can they get through it all together or will they have to battle it all on their own?

This book had a lot of really touching and moving elements in it. Not only discovering who he is, he has to face who he is, he has to find the strength to show the people who care about him the most exactly who he is. Dax just completely stole my heart. He had so much to deal with and the cards he was dealt in the military weren’t easy and the daily struggles would be there for a lifetime. But finding Beck was a big turning point in his life. Not only discovering what he wanted out of life, but discovering how strong he was through it all. Discovering that he didn’t have to do it alone and that his support system was going to be there no matter what.

As I said, Beck wasn’t without his own drama and issues. His past was scarred, his family, broken. Fitting all the pieces together in his life and finding the love of it will be a big test of his strength as well.

This book had me smiling, crying, laughing and hoping. It was moving and breathtaking. Melissa captures the heart and soul of these two men in such a powerful and poignant way and I couldn’t help but wish I was there to comfort and support them. I love the writing and the twists and turns in the plot. This book is amazing.

It may not be for everyone, but it is for anyone who believes in the power of true love. Strength and courage, hope and love. This book has it all and it is one of those books that I wish I could un-read so I can fall in love with these two men all over again! Well done and five fabulous stars!

Melissa Collins has always been a book worm. Studying Literature in college ensured that her nose was always stuck in a book. She followed her passion for reading to the most logical career choice: English teacher. Her hope was to share her passion for reading and the escapism of books to her students. Having spent more than a decade in front of a classroom, she can easily say that it’s been a dream.

Her passion for writing didn’t start until more recently. When she was home on maternity leave in early 2012, she read her first romance novel and her head filled with the passion, angst and laughter of the characters who she read about it. It wasn’t long before characters of her own took shape in her mind. Their lives took over Melissa’s brain and The Love Series was born.
