Racing hearts, Toe curling kisses, Sexy whispers…
Decker Brand has spent the past four years earning back his man-card. He’s got the calloused hands, the dirty jeans and the toned body to show for it. Now that he’s satisfied with whom he is he intends to stay true to himself even if it means remaining alone.
Lingering glances, Soft touches, Shallow Breaths…
April Maddox thought she’d lucked out when she found her prince at the early age of sixteen. Unfortunately, their kiss turned him from king to croaker right before her eyes.
Forsaken and cynical, she fears all men will leave her with warts before hopping off to another woman’s lily pad.
Smooth strokes, Light nips, Gentle tugs…
When it comes to relationships, they say timing is everything, and everything has its time.
History has played a part in Decker’s and April’s desire to give up on love. Fate will bring them together. It’s up to them to battle the outside forces, life’s interruptions, and daily dramas… together. With a little faith, they can undo everything that’s been…

Two tragically broken relationships. Two children missing a parent. Two parents doing the best they can. Lisa N. Paul does such a beautiful job bringing these parents together and giving them both what they have been longing for, real love.
Decker Brand lost his wife in an accident. An accident that was preventable if it weren’t for her controlling ways and thinking she knew what looked good to everyone else. They didn’t have the perfect marriage, Decker would be the first to admit to that, he knows they wouldn’t have lasted in the long run. They were so completely different. She was about status, he was about had work. She was about her and he was about them. She wasn’t a bad person, she just knew what she wanted out of life, out of a relationship. But Decker wanted something so different. He just didn’t realize it when he said “I do.” He made a vow, he promised her and their daughter. Even though it was destroying him on the inside, he is a man of his word.
April Maddox was married to her high school sweetheart. She thought she was happily married until he walked out on her when she was one week shy of having their baby. He walked out on them. He didn’t want that life. He didn’t want that kid. He didn’t want her. Devastation is a tough thing for anyone to get through, but to do it alone just one week away from having your first child? April had always been faithful and she had never given her husband reason to be unhappy with her. But here she was, she lost him to another woman and it was a fling that went back for eight months.
Years later, their children older… April and Decker have an actual chance at true love. They seem to be the perfect fit, once they finally get to a date. Decker wants to be a part of her life, but dating hasn’t really been her thing since her divorce. But she wants that with him. Protective of her heart and her son, it’s time for a little intervention.
One thing that always gets me in books in the characters. They make or break a book. I love that Decker is true to what he wants in life. I love that he encompasses strength and hard work. I love that he isn’t going to sit on the sidelines of his business to make anyone happy. I loved that April had a protective nature about her not only for her heart but for her son. She is resilient. Together, they are passionate, full of love and they get one another. The sass, the snark, the bad lines and the laugh it off lines. These two are seemingly meant to be together.
Lisa N. Paul did a fabulous job with this book and it was nice to revisit this town. It has been a while since I have picked up a book in the series and I definitely need to fix that. I had forgotten how much I love this town and these characters. It is a great read and it is full of love and passion and fruit flavored lip gloss!
