Say My Name by J. Kenner: Blog Tour & Review

saymyname1About SAY MY NAME

New York Times bestselling author J. Kenner kicks off a smoking hot, emotionally compelling new trilogy that returns to the world of her beloved Stark novels: Release Me, Claim Me, and Complete Me. Say My Name features Jackson Steele, a strong-willed man who goes after what he wants, and Sylvia Brooks, a disciplined woman who’s hard to get—and exactly who Jackson needs.

I never let anyone get too close—but he’s the only man who’s ever made me feel alive.

Meeting Jackson Steele was a shock to my senses. Confident and commanding, he could take charge of any room . . . or any woman. And Jackson wanted me. The mere sight of him took my breath away, and his touch made me break all my rules.

Our bond was immediate, our passion untamed. I wanted to surrender completely to his kiss, but I couldn’t risk his knowing the truth about my past. Yet Jackson carried secrets too, and in our desire we found our escape, pushing our boundaries as far as they could go.

Learning to trust is never easy. In my mind, I knew I should run. But in my heart, I never felt a fire this strong—and it could either save me or scorch me forever.

Say My Name is intended for mature audiences.

Wow. Just Wow. I am not sure what I was looking for in this book, but Jackson Steele was certainly not it. He is hot, there is no denying that. But he is demanding and controlling and knows what he wants and will risk it all to get it. But when push comes to shove, can they survive it?

Sylvia finally has the opportunity of a lifetime and walking away from Atlanta was the best thing that she could have done. It wasn’t easy, it wasn’t necessarily the right thing, but it is what needed to be done. Jackson spoke to her soul. He knew how to read her and push her buttons and hot damn if that wasn’t the sexiest thing ever. But Jackson was not what she needed. She couldn’t deal with him in her life and now here we are five years later and seemingly the world has spun off its axis. She knows her dream project is on the line and the only one she can turn to for help is the one man she pushed away all those years ago.

Sylvia had her reasons. She did it because she needed to. She didn’t want to, she never wanted to, but she had no choice. The scars from the past still haunt her and there is no escaping that. But now…

Now she needs Jackson’s help and this is going to be a big negotiation to handle. Can she do it and keep her heart and body in tact or is this where she loses it all?

Wait, let me just say, yes, Jackson is that hot. He is that powerful and he always gets what he wants, no matter the cost. But Jackson isn’t free from his past either. There is so much more to his story and just wait until that moment hits. Your jaw will drop, your thighs will clench and he will ultimately be your undoing… and Sylvia’s as it seems. But it could cost him everything, including the one thing that has such a high price to him.

This book was angst. Pure and complete angst. It took my breath. There are sensitive subjects in it, but the pure pain and hell that Sylvia has lived through is so much and Jackson only seems to add to her torture and torment. This book grabbed me, sucked me in and just when you know everything will be great, you run right into a brick wall that seems to have been built out of no where. It was intense.

I loved the deep connection between the characters and I loved watching this story unfold. You have no idea what to expect from page to page and I loved that. J. Kenner does such an amazing job with this book, I couldn’t put it down and honestly, I didn’t want to. It. Was. That. Good.
