Fatal Knockout by Julie Bailes

Knockout Book 1

It’s an action some encourage and others dissuade. Since the day I was born, fighting has been instilled into my mind. Regardless of your opinion, it’s
something we all do. At some point in time, consciously or ubconsciously—either emotionally, physically, or spiritually—we struggle. Many will strive to withstand their battles, but only those who were born to fight will overcome them.

A true fighter lacks weakness. They abstain from carelessness and refrain from trusting their opponents, but most importantly, they never accept defeat.

I am a true born fighter. Each second of every day, I fight. Rip the ones I love most away from me, I kill. If I’ve learned anything from this life, it’s to always expect the unexpected. As long as my heart continues to beat, and no matter the costs, I will be victorious.

I am not big on books about fighting. I but there was something I was drawn to with this book. I am not sure if it was Blaze’s confidence in the cage, or his heart at home with Madisyn but there was something that I just found so completely captivating about this book.

I loved Blaze and his love for his wife. She is his world, but it is more than that, she is his every breath. But it is not just her, it is his sister, his best friend, the life they created and the will to be so much more and to protect the ones he loves.

It is inside his world that Madisyn finds comfort and connection and they truly trust one another with everything they have and everything they are. They fight for one another, never against and they seem to be the perfect couple in every way. Overcoming one obstacle after another. Holding on, hoping and praying. They believe in their love and they know they will overcome all.

I loved the emotion and passion between the two characters, but more than that, I fell in love with each person in the book. Overcoming obstacle after obstacle and never giving up or giving in. So much strength and courage to deal with all the cards life has dealt them, but they always manage. They would do anything for one another. But there seems to be one obstacle that they have yet to face. It will be the toughest one yet, if they can survive.

I loved this book. It is not a long read and can be read in one sitting. But the pure emotion in this book just captured my heart. I cannot wait for book two in the series. Especially with an ending like that… WHAT?!?!? I cannot wait!
